Dual Diagnosis Treatment at Oasis
Some of these steps include:
-
Acceptance of the condition and evolving beyond ego defenses used to avoid this such as “ I’m not depressed” (denial), or “That is because of my depression” (blame).
-
Development of sober coping strategies for dealing with clinical mood disorders. This involves recognizing symptoms, identifying patterns and sharing feelings in groups and individual sessions.

Oasis Treatment Center-Dual Diagnosis Treatment
A growing percentage of persons currently entering Alcohol/Chemical Dependence treatment facilities, are diagnosed with dual disorders. This challenges the client and the treatment facility to develop a plan in which all issues are addressed in the treatment experience. Here at Oasis Treatment Center, we are a part of that solution.Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Long Term Recovery
Long term sober recovery requires a program designed for just that. At Oasis Treatment Center, we have been helping people recover for over 23 years and then follow up with our clients to help encourage a strong aftercare program. Oasis Treatment Center in Orange County California.
There is a better way to live. Addictions are an outgrowth of unhealthy choices and habits. Hope based on the realistic expectation that someone can and will change is a powerful and positive motivating force. We can build bridges across the span of our lives in many ways. At the Oasis Treatment Center, we demonstrate the basics of helping people identify and cope with the symptoms of their “dis-ease”. We educate our clients on post acute withdrawal and the dynamics of the detoxification process. We encourage healthy lifestyle habits to replace old behavioral patterns while directing our clients toward spirituality, open communication, and 12 step community support.
We value one on one counseling in order to assist them in identifying character flaws that could lead them back to active use. Individual treatment plans are prepared by licensed clinicians who have themselves overcome the grip of addiction. In order to fully address the dynamics of individual issues, we encourage family participation with the realization that they have been effected by the disease and deserve the education, group therapy, and support to ensure the healing process.
“Many people pray to overcome the will of a reluctant Higher Power, instead of taking hold of the willingness of a loving Higher Power”, for it is wise to pray for the future, but not to worry about it. We can’t live it until it becomes the present. The depth of our anxiety measures the distance we are from the truth. Sometimes we go along with things, not because we really want to, but because we don’t know what else to do. The insanity takes over, and no one has the wisdom or the courage to make the call. Remember, Change is going to be there whether we like it or not. If not now, when?

"I have not stopped giving thanks for you..."
"I have not stopped giving thanks for you..."
Dear Friends at Oasis
I
left my stay with you folks almost 5 years ago. You were my seventh
treatment center, but the first to suggest I pray. That saved my life
& started me on a happy path.
Since then, I've had 8 sponsees & 4 have over a year (+1 more soon).
I secretary 2 meetings. I've volunteered in a treatment center as the
"AA Volunteer" for 3.5 years. Also, my wife & I have referred three
folks to you.
On a separate line, on May 26, my wife & I will celebrate 30 years
of marriage. As I've been told by folks in my "Home Group", she's a
saint. Further, on June 1, I'll celebrate my first anniversary as a
non-smoker--after 38 years of addiction. The nice thing here-- not only
can I breathe, the savings is paying for our June trip to England--our
first trip overseas.
Am I grateful? I am VERY HAPPY!
Thank you for your instruction in prayer. I never had any instruction
before, and my background as a Sunday school teacher (9 years), plus a
church deacon & elder implied that I must know--but I didn't, and I
had no idea that it was so important.
Please keep up the good work. You are valued and greatly appreciated.
Tom S.

More About Oasis
Twenty years and thousands of residents later, the
couple is a little older, a little wiser and not that much different.
Jim will still promise every single client that he will tell them the
truth, teach them what he knows, give them the tools to stay sober and
share his life with them. Kathy will still love each person, regardless
of who they are, where they came from, or what they have done. Jim and
Kathy have had their own hardships over the years; their only son was
killed by a drug addict, but their commitment to the Oasis has remained
true. On any holiday you can find them at the center, celebrating with
their “Family”. While Jim is past retirement age, you will not find him
at home enjoying all he has accomplished. Your best bet is at Oasis,
talking to an addict or alcoholic, teaching a spirituality group,
leading a fireside meeting or helping the staff. Kathy will be in her
love group each Friday, reminding people that they are loved and that
there is hope.
Jim and Kathy had a
vision 20 years ago and it surpassed their wildest dreams. Oasis’s
original logo “Love Will Give You Wings.” has continued to give the
residents their wings to stay alive. And when asked what the future
holds for the Antonowitsch’s ; for the most part, they plan to spend it
with their “Family”; the Oasis Treatment Center.
